Running wire through firewall

Hello,

I'm installing an Intellitronix gauge cluster in my camaro and need to run some wires from the engine bay to the dash. Two replacement sending units with two standard 1.5mm wires each.
Does anyone know where there's an existing grommet I can use to pull them through or, if there isn't, recommend a decent place and some tips to drill one?

Add on gauges, or replacing stock gauges? All the wiring for stock gauges already exists and goes through the firewall. You can just tie into that at the connector in the dash.

I guess it's a mix of both, it's a new digital circuit board, so the tach and voltage gauges both use the old connectors, but the kit includes a replacement oil pressure sending unit and temperature sending unit that' are incompatible with the stock ones, and need new wiring. So I'm looking for a place/the best place to run the new wires through.

If you car has/had cruise control there is a pretty large grommet for it's wires and vacuum release hose near where the steering column passes through the firewall that may be a good place to run a few small wires through.

You can just use the existing wires to run the Intellitronix gauges, it says as much right in the instructions

Re: Running wire through firewall

Well, the CORRECT way to do it (if you cannot use the existing wires) is to add Packard terminals to the bulkhead connector for the main engine harness on the driver-side firewall. There are several empty slots to add terminals. I did this on mine to add 2 wires for accessories, as I did not want to drill any holes in the firewall...

Oh... yeah. I just looked at the connector, saw that it didn't fit the new unit directly and drew the conclusion that I might have to run my own wires. Still new to fixing on cars and not super into reading instructions, figured I might as well ask in case I might need to know.

Thanks for the heads up, my bad
