Water Temp Gauge Swap

Long time lurker first time poster.

Have a 85 Camaro with the temperature gauge reading in celsius (40-125).

I was able to find a replacement temperature gauge but it reads in farenheit (100-260)

Now I prefer the farenheit over the celsius and would prefer to keep it but will the stock sender work? And would this cause any issues?
I noticed the resistor on the back was a different color.

Will this work?

Is there an actual difference? I checked rock auto and all single wire senders seem the same?

Then the gage must filter the signal. Try it and find out. The only thing between the gage and the sender is a wire.

Just a guess, but I'd bet the only difference is in the numbers on the faces of the two gauges. IOW, install your F gauge; it'll work OK.
