New Starter Motor advice

I have a 1982 Trans Am. 305 with a quadrajet. I can only assume the starter is gone as it is only clicking when I try and turn over. It must be quite old as the when the starter gets hot - it wont engage or sounds sluggish but eventually starts.. What brand starter is a good option as a replacement? I am in Australia.
Many thanks.

Re: New Starter Motor advice

Test your battery first. When you hear the clicking noise when starting, it is the starter solenoid/relay trying to transmit power to the starter motor while kicking out the bendix gear, but there is not enough amperage to keep the relay engaged so it kicks out and shuts off rapidly instead. The battery should have 12.5V or higher static charge before trying to start the car.
