Hi,
I wasn't sure where to place this question...thought I would start here. Over winter storage, my speedometer, odometer and trip odometer stopped working. I read numerous posts and some point to the transmission speed sensor as the issue if speedometer and odometer don't work.
My questions are...does the 92 automatic have a speed sensor? If so, do you have a part number or location to purchase one? If one exists, where is it located?
TIA...Mike

Yes the 1992 Camaros with L98 Engine used a VSS...
However, they used a VSS that was driven by Cable-Speedometer Gears.
GM/ ACDelco does not produce one anymore.
Here is a part number for Standard Motor products: SC12.

For future ref: Electric speedo gears and Cable speedo gears are not compatible. All speedo DRIVE speedo gears ( tranny shaft mounted ) are the same, but the DRIVEN speedo gears ( sending unit mounted ) are specific. Electric speedo gears are "flat" at the sending unit mounting surface; cable DRIVEN speedo gears have a "post" on the sending unit mounting surface. Originally Posted by vorteciroc

Fairly certain this is true for the 84-89 electric VSS DRIVEN gears ( Berlinetta, Corvette, Firebird ) as well as the 90-92 VSS DRIVEN gears ( F-Body ) when compared to Third Gen cable sending unit speedo gears.

Thank you for Posting this, as I did not think of it at the time.
