I just wanted to share a project that I have been working on for a while. These are replacement window switches for 3rd gens.
Features:
- Direct replacement
- Plug and Play
- Low profile faux leather touch pads
- Halo LEDs
- Auto Up / Down programming
- Integrated current sensors.
- High efficiency power transfer to provide full power to the window motors (No power loss through the switches)
Question to the seller, do you have Yellow planned? A 91 Camaro with white LED lights in the dash make a bright yellow.
Also, whats the total length of these units? They look deeper than the stock switches, wonder how much room there is between the console lid and the trans tunnel for something longer like that, especially with Dynomat, Matback Foam on the tunnel.
Another nice product that brings modern electronics to 3rdgens, while being designed to fit without modifications. And after checking out your website, I see a lot of products that I didn't know you build and offer. Thank you. BraveTECH - Home
Great product. I like this much better than the window relay harness kit offered by another member.
1. Is the LED on whenever the key is on or does it come when the lights are turned on?
2. Are you familiar w/ "Window Racer"? I have one installed, which basically speeds up the window. Will these switches be affected by this?
3. I read on your site you recommend new motors installed as the old may draw too much power. You think window racer will cause similar issues?
these are on my list of stuff to buy. i would just have to find some kind of similar looking hatch release. think itll look weirs with the fancy buttons and an old lookin hatch release. just my opinion.
i found this one but its a on/ off switch. maybe it can be taken apart and be made as just a push button to release the hatch. mounting looks almost the same as a factory 3rd gen switch.

Hi there!
Sorry for the late reply! I didn't receive any notifications on my posts for some reason.
I can absolutely prepare a yellow set. There's just a small fee for me to purchase and manually swap out the LEDs.
The switch depth is 38mm. They are only about 10mm deeper than the factory switches.
Please let me know if you have any other questions =)

Hi Tim!
I'm so glad you are happy with my products. I really appreciate the email you sent me. Sorry for the late reply!
Please share my website with others, if you feel up to it. It really helps me keep the business up and running =)
Normally, my (joking) old geezer answer to tech I don't understand is to say "It will never work".
But clearly this does. Well done!
Hi there!
Haha they definitely gave me a lot of trouble during the ~9 month design phase. I think this newest version is working very well, and in my heavily biased opinion, I think they look pretty good too =)
Please let me know if you have any questions. I'm always happy to help.

I'm very glad to hear that you like the design. These are great questions!
1. The LEDs are illuminated when the ignition key is on.
2. I'm afraid I'm not familiar with Window Racer. I assume it either provides power to the switches directly from the battery, or boosts the voltage (likely up to around 16.0 V). The newest version of the switches can handle quite a bit more power. The current sensing circuit that I designed would be the only possible hiccup. It's designed to sense overall current through the motors. (If voltage is indeed increased), it will also increase the current draw of the motors. You may experience the windows stopping a bit short of 100% closed , while rolling up. That being said, they are designed to handle a voltage fluctuation from 11V to 14.7V (Engine OFF or ON), so an additional volt shouldn't change too much.
3. Firstly, THANK YOU for reading the description! =)
The original version wasn't able to handle quite as much power transfer. I upgraded the components and circuit design to increase the power transfer capacity. It should be able to handle factory motors, but they will protect themselves from overcurrent, if the factory motors draw too much power. As far as the Window Racer, I think I covered that in answer #2.
Please let me know if you have any other questions. =)

Hi there,

A matching hatch release is definitely on my list. I've designed a prototype for a gentleman and it worked out great. I just need to find a clean way to make it plug and play, as the hatch switch always has a live 12V wire which would keep the LEDs on constantly. I will likely tap into the window switch circuit to provide power to the custom hatch switch LEDs.

awesome. cant wait. these are definitely on my list of future purchases. please keep us updated.
I think the window racer boost the voltage to 16. So it should be ok. Worst case, I would just remove the WR.
Do your switches speed up the window any?
Will the hatch switch work for the tonneau release on the verts?
I saw you're now also making front markers for Camaros.
Will those work as both driving light and signal lamp?

Good afternoon (here),
Thank you for verifying how the Window Racer Functions.
Window Speed: One of the power transfer parasites is the factory window switch itself (if it is still the original). This is due to the carbon build up on the contacts that adds additional resistance to the circuit. this can slow the windows down considerably. My window switches use a high efficiency power transfer circuit that causes almost zero parasitic power draw.
So, if you are still using the stock switches, you will notice a bit of a speed boost when you switch over to my switches.
Hatch Switch: Hmm.. do you know if there is a difference in hatch switch/ tonneau release switch functionality? I apologize, I'm not familiar with the tonneau release.
That being said, I can design the switches to do pretty much anything.
Camaro Front Turn Signals: These will have amber sequential turn signals and bright 6500K white Running Lights. (Switch Back Style)
Please let me know if you have any other questions =)
i was thinking since the hatch release is constant 12v which would make the light stay on. could you wire it where its constant 12v but the light comes on as you press it? dunno just thinking out loud. lol
Installed these today. Red LED. I like 'em. They work fine with my 35 year old window motors. I see no reason why they wouldn't work just as well with a Window Racer and might even "appreciate" a Window Racer because they'd spend less time ON.
Looking forward to getting the project car far along enough to justify the cost over other parts to get it to run and drive.....and stop. I ended up replacing every single light bulb on the car including the interior, I did just recently order Brave TECH's dome LED light and LED cargo bulb, really looking for to getting those in especially the dome light.
I did recently ask Braven Dirk which color for the window switches to go with base on the existing redish orangeish color of the dash lights and he suggested red LED colored switches.

Hi Tony,
I apologize, the photo made the interior lighting look a bit more red, than the factory lighting.
The baseline blood orange LEDs were selected to match the factory interior lighting. Feel free to choose the blood orange, if you wish, whenever you're ready to place an order =)

Thanks for the clarification, I'm hoping sooner than later on that order
Is that surface plastic? Or something leather like?
Off topic, where you get your signature pic?
looks like he got to answer before me. lol
pretty soon im gonna order the sequential tail light setup, leds and flasher. im just wondering cause im hoping to get some of those Klearz tail lights now that i saw a pic of them on a white car. ill probably have to get red and orange leds.
Thanks for the link. Have you thought about digi-tails to go with the klearz lens?
i have but honestly i dont like how the digitails look. i dont like seeing individual LEDs in tail lights. now if they made some like OLED versions that might look sick.
Digitails are already sequential, but each segment has its own circuit. There is a switch to turn it off too. Not to say the harness will work. Maybe Braven could answer your question.
If I recall correctly, Digi-Tails only has the sequential effect on the display located in the turn signal location. The brake light display is non-sequential. My sequential harness would not really be useful unless you turned off all of the sequential effects on the Digi-Tails and allowed my harness to control the sequencing of each LED panel. The panels would simply function like large LED bulbs.
But at that point, you would be purchasing my sequential harness and also a set of Digi-Tails. Your money would likely be better invested in funding me to design a fully custom sequential tail light display for your vehicle. Similar to Digi-Tails but the sequence would travel across the entire tail light area.
You can turn both the signal and brake sequence off, each has a switch. The brake is hard to see since it doesn't repeat like the turn signal. I think digitails calls it segmented or staggered or something. Its suppose to reduce shock to the LEDs since they dont all light up at once. Anyway, i like your idea of making the sequence travel across the panel.
