1992 Trans Am headlight problem

Shot in the dark here but has anyone experienced this issue with their Firebird? When I am driving my car during the day, my headlights automatically turn on as soon as I release the handbrake, even when it is day light. As soon as I engage the handbrake, the headlights turn off. I have to run the handbrake on the first click to get around this issue.

Thanks in advance!

Sounds like the car's electronics have been modified to 'automatically' activate the headlights as daytime running lights, something 3rdgens don't have. Canadian law, maybe?

Canadian Firebirds in those years have daytime running lights. It always seemed to me like a goofy way to approach the problem, I'd probably disable it just for my own sanity. Pretty sure there are some fuses for the DRL system, might try pulling them and see if that keeps the system from activating the lights.
