I have a 84 trans am that runs good but for some reason nothing on the dash works at all and radio doesn’t come on and I can’t get any readings when I test the fuses in the box on the inside the test light doesn’t light up on any of them but my tailights and horn and headlights work, i believe I have tested the right wire that goes to the fuse box but not exactly sure. But my main thing I have found out of place was a wire I seen while I was looking for fusible links, I got a picture of it I will include but it is connected to the back of alternator and looks like it’s supposed to go to battery when I put the test light on it has power and the carburetor starts clicking like it would you turn the switch to on. Was wondering if any has answers on what the wire is and what it connects too. I am holding the wire in the pictures
I can't see where that wire is coming from, but the first thing I would check is the fusible links that connect to the positive terminal on the starter...
That Images appears to be of a Cut/ Broken Fusible-Link that powers one of the Multiple 12v+ Wires to the PCM.
so do you think it hooks in with the positive terminal of the battery it looks like it goes straight to that I will get more pics of the wire later. Thanks for all the help.
