Fusible Links
Hello all. I discovered that the fusible links for my left headlamp door and fog lights had broken where they were spliced to their power feed. The remaining link, for the right headlamp door, was hanging by a thread.
It appears 22 gauge fusible link wire is unobtanium. What has anyone done to substitute?
Also, the electrical tape around the splices was pretty beefy. Does anyone know what kind it is (hi temp, reinforced, etc)? Last but not least, what’s a safe way to clean off the gooey residue?
TIA

I'd try Goo Gone for getting the sticky adhesive off...
