Turn signal help!
Odd question here but I just got some new front side marker turn signal lights. Smoked out and look great. Problem is when turned on the turn signals all work but the opposite side brake lights flash too. I checked the polarity, led flasher unit installed…can’t figure this one out. Any advice on this?

Re: Turn signal help!
1) How did you check polarity?
2) Have you checked your harness grounds for cleanliness and tightness?
3) Did you use an LED flasher with an external ground?

Re: Turn signal help!
I’m not an electrician so forgive my possible ignorance here.
There were led bulbs installed in the original factory orange housings. they worked fine, no issues. Upon removing the bulb I noticed a red dot on the side of the bulb. Conveniently the new assembly had a red and black wire that plugs right into the existing wiring. So I connected them that way. Noticed the problem, switched things around and nothing changed. Without some type of device to check it that’s the best I could do.
led flasher is installed, does not have a ground. If it worked fine before what would cause it to need a ground wire now?
haven’t physically checked every wire strand/harness but if it was working fine prior to installation of the aftermarket lenses it seems unlikely damage or whatever occurred.
again I’m not an electrician, just looking for help. Did about all I know how to
update: reinstalled stock bulbs and housing. Problem follows
