Took my 91 to a locksmith known around here for being able and willing to work on VATS to have it fixed. Previous owner had something done to steering column that prevented locksmith from
being able to get it disassembled so he bypassed it.

im still having intermittent security light issues a few weeks later that are same problem we were trying to fix by having the VATS fixed.

he said only other possibility is the VATS control module attached to the computer. Sounds expensive.

anyone ever successfully bypass VATS at ignition and still have issues? I’ll pay to fix it but I don’t want to spend $$$$ chasing ghosts.
