Where to put ICM

So I need to move the ignition module because on my old engine it was in the distributor but now it’s not. Can I just put it in the firewall or something like that? If so, how do I get power to it?

Re: Where to put ICM

I'm guessing this is related to your other posts about this (changeover from small-cap w coil mounted on intake to large-cap w coil-in-cap) that don't make sense either.

The ICM is INSIDE THE DISTRIBUTOR. The harness that comes out from INSIDE THE DISTRIBUTOR carries power to it from the terminal on the OUTSIDE of the dist.

https://www.jegs.com/i/JEGS/555/40005/10002/-1 for example

Observe the harness with what looks like red, black, & yellow wires. The end of it you can't see plugs into the ICM, INSIDE THE DISTRIBUTOR.

Re: Where to put ICM

From the lack of Details...
I do NOT exactly know what you are doing.

However if you have a fully Electronic Advance Distributor (Like the Vortec 350 Engines)...
You would use something like the Image below for the ICM and Coil:
