88 Camaro steering column connector wire ID

Working on a steering column from an 88 Camaro. Can someone tell me what the white wire on the attached picture does? I can't find the connection on the wiring diagram. Also, what about the green and tan wires on the far right of the connector? Thanks in advance,

Schematic book has the following connections from left to right:
White wire - pin P can't find
Dk green - pin N Right rear turn signal
Yellow - pin M Left rear turn signal
Purple - pin L from turn signal flasher
Brown - pin K from hazard flasher
Dk blue - pin J - Right front turn signal
Lt blue - pin H Left front turn signal
Black - pin G - horn
Lt green - pin F Key warning output

I still can't find what the white wire does

Anu other thoughts?

It takes both the white and the tan wires

I still can't find it on the schematic. What does the white wire connect to?? If the key buzzer, can you provide a list of connections and colors? See attached schematic.
I'm using the steering column for a custom car and thus I need to know the connections.

Re: 88 Camaro steering column connector wire ID

It's the same thing as all the other white wires under the dash.

Courtesy lights. That's the feed from the interior light circuit that makes the key buzzer buzz.

It's the wire that makes the key buzzer buzz when you take the key out with the lights on (door open, most usually). The lights have hard battery, via an orange wire, on one side. Opening a door, or turning the dash light dimmer all the way to turn on the interior lights, grounds the white wire. The tan wire on your schematic is the tail lights which of course are on whenever the headlights or parking lights are turned on. The buzzer then buzzes when there's 12V on the tan wire (lights are on) and ground on the white wire (door is open), with the key out.

Re: 88 Camaro steering column connector wire ID

So here is what I'm thinking...
The first picture below shows the schematic for the courtesy lights. This schematic shows the LH door jamb switch with two contacts. One contact is connected to the courtesy lamp circuits with a white wire. The second picture shows the alarm module schematic. This schematic shows the second contact connected to the ignition key warning switch through the turn signal switch contact E, the tan wire.

If the white wire is also a connection to the key switch, there would be two paths to the key alarm. The white wire from the turn signal switch (contact P) would need to be connected to the first door jamb switch contact switch as illustrated in the second picture (excuse my artwork!) Thus, there would be two paths to the alarm, one through the white wire and the other through the tan wire. If the door jamb switch has only one contact, the white wire and tan wire could both be connected to that contact, again creating parallel paths.
So, is this analysis correct? Do I need two paths to the alarm?

Let me know your thoughts.
