DIY rear hatch motor fix

If you're like me, you've spent COUNTLESS hours of your life trying to fix the STUPID rear hatch motor that came on some of these cars. Personally, i live on a gravel road, and the thing just get RATTELED apart wherever i go. I got fed up with it and attempted this sort of DIY fix, it's been holding up pretty well for me so far. I thought someone else might appreciate this.

First, I ground down the stupid plastic that was in the way. It had been melted and abused, and the electrical contacts had sunk way down. So I got a grinding bit in my drill and just got rid off all the extra gunk.

Then, I used this nice little sleeve of three wires that my dad had. We worked together to soulder down the fires and then attached them PERMANENTLY with gorilla glue. you can see we used zip ties as a sort of extra back-up strain release just in case anything got snagged.

Finally, we connected the other end of the wires (shown here) to their respective wires from the wiring harness. I left extra slack so that things wouldn't end up having stress on them.

Then I reassembled it all. My back panel looks just a little strange because of my sub setup, but as you can see it all goes back together as it should.
