Rear hatch doesn't close (not pull down motor related)

Rear hatch doesn't close (not pull down motor related)
So I just finished rebuilding my rear hatch motor, I install everything lined up the way it was, but the hook isn't catching.
I looked at it and there's a double sided spring thats come loose, and I can't seem to find where the ends are supposed to attach.
Does anyone know how to fix this? Thanks
