Power Hatch Release Wiring

Good morning everyone, I've been looking around here as well as the shop manuals that I have access to and have become a little stumped. I came into possession of my father's 86 Camaro Sport when he passed away, and since then I've been working on it during the free time I have (not much when you end up working 11 hour shifts 5-6 days a week). This car didn't have the power hatch release from the factory, but my dad already had the pieces for it laying in the trunk, the switch, relay, and trunk mechanism that has the solenoid on it. Most places that i've read is that this is just a find the wiring and throw the switch, relay, and solenoid in and you're ready to go. I've found 2 female end connector with a yellow and orange wires taped behind the shifter inside of the center console, which I assume is where the switch would go but that's all the luck that I've had so far. I have not for the life of me been able to find the power wire that would go from the relay to the solenoid, or wiring for the relay itself. A post somewhere said that it would be hiding under the passenger side of the dash, but all I've been able to find taped out of the way is a single grey connector with a brown wire, and I don't think that's correct. I see multiple people saying that the cars have the harness for it, and that it's just taped out of the way since it isn't used, but is it possible that it just doesn't have the wires? I have the two connectors that I was able to find posted as well if that's any help.

Connector found taped off to the side of the shifter on the inside of the center console, where abouts the switch would sit

Single terminal connector that was taped onto the dash, has single brown wire.

Re: Power Hatch Release Wiring

Pretty sure the 2 wire connector fits to the relay and button,.. You'll have to add a relay and button.

There is also a heavy gauge black wire that leads from the relay in the center console all the way to the hatch PPD motor. This wire gets connected to the hatch release solenoid. ( you need to add that too; mounts on the PPD motor. ) With any luck, that 1 wire plug in your picture is an intermediate plug at the center console for the wire I just described. I would check the rear hatch PPD motor area for a loose 1-wire plug on a heavy gauge black wire. If you find it - then you just need to add the parts I mentioned and will not have to run any wires at all.
