New radio issue

Bought an 87 IROC a few months back and the radio worked perfect, factory unit.

Now fast forward a few months, and when i start the car, the screen is blank. When i push the power ****, the clock comes on, no music plays and after a few seconds, the screen goes dark again.

Want to keep this car stock, any ideas of how to get it functioning again?

Thanks
Tony

Re: New radio issue

That's how the radio functions when it has no accessory power, just b+. Check the rdo fuse first, then make sure the power is going to the radio with key on.

Time to have all the capacitors replaced. Had same scenario as U & that is how mine was repaired.

+1

Voltage from the RADIO fuse is on the YELLOW wire on the BLACK plug. If you have a good fuse,.... might want to probe that YELLOW wire at the radio.
