Leave the ECM in or not after engine swap?

I just swapped my LO3 out for a carbed engine. I was wondering if there were any benefits to leaving the ECM in the car, like powering the fuel pump (still have the electric one), turning on the fan, or others. Should I rip out the ECM and wire up these things up seperately or leave it in? My mods are in the sig. Thanks.

Leave it in! Just take the bulb out. It will be excellent for powering your speedo, fuel pump and control your fans.

Axle/Gears: ones that turn.
As far as the speedo goes, all you need to leave in is the yellow box that is piggy-backed to the ECM. If you have cruise, the ECM controls that; the fuel pump and fan could be switched using relays.

Thanks for the replies. The speedo won't be affected I don't believe because I have a T56, and will probably have to use the Dakota Digital box. I don't have cruise either. Just have a couple more questions.

Does the computer control the AC at all? Is there a feature that uses the computer to shut off the fuel pump if the oil pressure drops? How would I wire up the fuel pump (keeping this feature) w/out the computer? I found an article on how to wire the fans. Thanks for all the help so far.
