Who fixes VATS modules?

As subject matter reads, I probably need a PROM, is there a generic PROM available I could source locally.
Cheers, Paul.

According to GM they are not servicable. A new one from GM is about 150 bucks. The other idea is to get a prom chip for your ECM, which cost about 150 bucks, and it will remove the VATS system from your car. Thats about it for your choices.

Just to clarify Joker, there is no difference in cost either way?

Pretty much. You might be able to find the prom a bit cheaper.. but i got a price from a speed shop out in Arizona that does custom prom chips for the ecm. The big difference is that the prom will permently take out the VATS (unless you get another prom with it, and prom switching is not something you can do when you just want to take the car to the city that one night for clubbing or such). The new VATS module once installed will 'program' itself to the first key you put in your igintion system and start your car with. After that, it will permently use that key's resistance. It's made that way due to the factory process of which they make the cars, and after factory security.
