Turn Sigals flash too slow or fast or not at all. Help!

I own a 84 Z28 V8 305 4bbl HO, VIN G. I have a problem with my turn signals. I am hoping some of you can help. Recently the turn signals will flash intermittently. Then they would start working again. They would flash slower, then faster, then nothing at all. Or they would do this in any order. I changed the flasher to no avail. Perhaps the problem is related to a relay or other component on the same interface. The interface I am referring to drops down. It is on the drivers right side, very close to the vent that heat blows out of, near the feet. This interface is about 4x2 inches and contains the flasher, two relays of some sort (possibly horn and accessory) and module that is about 2x3 inches. All of these connect to this drop down interface for quick access. Does it make sense that perhaps one of these relays or module is at fault?

Please help!

Thanks,
Z28fFreakboy

It makes sense to me. Either a bad relay or maybe you could have a bad connection at the relay. Maybe the prongs got rusted somehow or it is just loose.

And maybe that bad connection could be causing a low voltage condition. Do the flashers speed up when the RPMs go up? Try the emergency lights. Do they do the same? If so, then there is nothing wrong with the flasher. It could be your charging system too.
Low voltage will increase the time it takes for the flasher to heat up and flash on and off (like a flasher bulb on a Christmas light set).

Not a flame, but are you shore you replace the right flasher, there should be two. Both up under the dash somewhere. One is for the blinkers and the other for the four-way flashers. I just went thought this in my Caviler. And in that car the four-way flasher was in the location you described, not the flasher for the blinkers. Look for the other flasher and switch them around and see what happens……

I found it!

Yes. Thank you all for your efforts in helping me. I found the flasher for the turn signals last night. It was crammed up behind the instrument panel, to the right of the sterring column. It is interesting that the convenience center doesn't include a spot for it there.

I put a 557 flasher in there. Works. Thanks everyone for all your help!

Can anyone help me?

The turn signals dont work if there is any bad bulb? When I use the right side one I dont hear the flasher, the front ones stay on and the back one dont light up, on the left side it flash and I can hear it but there is a light that dont turn on (the one on the front fender).

Can I take those bulbs out and put some generics ones with the same specifications, couse I dont know if I will be able to find the exact replacements.

Also I bought a Chilton Book for 3rd gens Camaros but there is not a single part info, What book should I buy to get part numbers? A service manual? Can I buy those in Amazon?

Thanks.
