Inst lmps fuse keeps going
I posted this before and I thought I had it figured out, but when i put my fuse in the inst lmps it keeps going out, here is the story
bought a new cd player put it in, when it was all said and done when I put my lights on my dash doesnt light up. so I posted on the board... I checked my fuses before but I guess I wasnt looking at the right one, someone on the board told me to check my inst lmps fuse, so I did. it is a 5 amp fuse... so I checked and it was blown, well its 2 weeks later and I finally got another fuse... put it in and it blew instantly, put another in and it blew, tried it 3 times... finally I was pissed, so I tried a 10 amp fuse, blew that, tried another one and it didnt blow, took it out and put my 5 amp fuse in and it didnt blow but the dash still doesnt light up... did I screw something up bad when I put that 10 in? or is there another reason, also why did the 5 keep blowing? thanks for the help

You blew the triac in the dimmer control module by putting the 10A fuse in there. Check out this thread. Same problem, fairly simple solution if you know how to solder. I'm having the same problem with my Berlinetta but my electronic modules are different so I'm having to track it down differently. You can find the part at radioshack.com. T?he stores don't carry them any more. Hell, the electronics stores in my area don't even have one.
