The module is located at about the center of the dash - kind of up & behind the radio & is difficult to access. The dash must be disassembled and pulled back to reach it. It controlls the start enable relay and sends a fuel injector enable signal to the ECM.

no crank, no click, no start, no voltage to the gear selector switch.
After attempting to bypass the VATS system, by wiring in a 1.866 kilo-ohm(the same as the key) resistor to the connector under the dash.. the security light seems to be stuck on... Got any idea on how to reset it?

If the security light stays on when the ign is turned on, instead of coming on for a few seconds & then turning off, then the VATS module is reading an incorrect resistance from the key resistor sense lines. If the security light does not come on at all when the ign is turned on, then the VATS module is reading a short (zero ohms), or an open circuit across the key resistor sense lines.

yea....
The security light wasn't coming on at all.
I did check the codes on the diag. circuit and got a code 46 (VATS).
I got out the Ohmmeter and checked the resistance from the lines going to the lock cylinder and got an open circuit with the key in the ignition. So I went out and bought some resistors and matched the resistance of my key with them.
Bypassing the lock cylinder fixed the problem.
Thanks for the help!
