Ignition problem driving me nuts! Car pops, misfires after 4K rpms, carbed, HEI......

Its got new MSD wires, brand new HEI cap, fairly new Petronix Flamethrower coil, new ignition module, new rotor, plugs look fine, its NOT the carburetor...I tried 3 different carbs with the same exact problem, and there are NO vacuum leaks, timing is set perfect, distributor is bolted down nice and tight. I'm totally stumped. I KNOW its an ignition problem because it only happens at high RPMS when I get on it, and becuase it does the same thing with different carbs on it, plus my car did this exact same thing a few months ago and it turned out to be the plug wires (****ty accel 8mm) but I replaced them and the MSD's still look new! Am I going insane??!? I'm about ready to buy a new motor j/k but seriously I'm getting angry. By the way......last week the car drove PERFECTLY, I didnt' change a thing (only thing I did that I can think of that maybe relates is I took the car through emissions, had to detune it and swap some emissions equipement back on...but I set everything back to the old setup), and now this week it suddenly doesn't run right when I get on it. This is really pissing me off cuz I lost to my buddy in his 2001 SS camaro and I usually SMOKE him!! He thinks his car got faster!! @#%#@@#$@#$@!#@%!%
