I just ripped out my TPI setup and went carb'd. My question is, will the stock alternator still work? It has a three wire lead (red, and 2 blacks, one with a white stripe I think) that plugs into the wiring harness that enters the drivers side firewall. The computer harness has been removed. Can I go (or should I go) with a 1-wire setup? What is the purpose of the other 2 wires. Will a 1-wire alternator jack things up or should I retain the original alternator.
Please help.....I never thought of this until stuff started going back together!
