Hidden switch for anti-theft

I was wondering if anyone knew about this kind of anti-theft device. My friend told me that some cars will not start unless a certain electrical circuit is closed before turning the key - for example depressing the hazard lights switch or setting the headlights to brights before turning the key, seat heaters being engaged etc. Apparently it's an install option when Lo-Jack is being installed but i haven't heard of it before tonight. Anyone using it right now?

Do a search on "kill switch" or "kill" - there was a big discussion on how to do it, and various options for "killing" the car. Some real good ideas there.
