FYI: Pre-88 cars will need a new rear U-joint. I used CarQuest p/n 3-3130.

Ive had many thirdgens that were pre-88 that I installed shafts out of LS1 cars into. Its a direct swap.

I sold 70+ thirdgen alum shafts (JG1) on this site. IIRC, all the pre-88's required a new U, including my own. Bottom line, I guess, is if you don't need a new U, no problem; if you do, you have a part number.
