I don't think it's anywhere on the pan. Should have no problem fitting in an F body though. I'll probably take pictures of everything tomorrow.

I can't say for sure. I would assume it doesn't come out much farther to the side than a stock steering pump. Here's a pic when it was mounted on a 406...

I really don't want to sell the damper unless the crank is sold as they belong together and I'll be using them if nobody buys both. They would add up to 500 though. There are prices in front of every item guys.

That is funny you call me an idiot because I did not realize the prices were posted. But in your post you say that you do not want to seperate the crank and damper. so why did you price them seperatly. I guess that I am no more of an idiot than you are.

I never called you an idiot. You must have figured that out yourself. I only wrote that because half the PMs I recieved were asking about price, not just because of your post.

I have edited the original post many times to add new items and organize it better. I originally had written I was considering selling as a pair, but at this point, I would sell the crank separately, but not the damper separately because may wind up reusing the damper. That's why I listed separate prices.

Re: Parts for sale....

I'm looking at:
~ chrome altinator and brackets
~ the adjustable timing chain
~The oil pan
~ The timing chain cover
~ Any nice brackets, bolts, adjutable parts for the front end parts.
~Is the damper a really high quality part that will take 7000rpm spin cycles?
I'm wanting top shelf parts for an engine that is going to be spun hard. Let me know how you wish to proceed. Thanks, Nitro-Nicky

I should probably update this a bit... The alternator is pretty much destined for my Dad's 70 Vette, the pan, pan seal, and pump have been sold.

The alternator bracket is new and still for sale. The Cloyes Hex Adjust is the good one with the German chain. I don't have anything for a 3rd gen suspension unfortunately. Both the crank and damper are some of the best you can buy and will certainly hold up to what you can through at them. The balancer is an SFI spec 6.25" Fluidampr that goes with the crank well. The crank is a std/std Lunati Race Series forged crank 3.5" stroke for a 350. The stuf doesn't come much better. Those two together are over $1800 new. These parts are like new and I'm asking $1000 for both. Let me know if you're interested.

They're SB2 heads like NASCAR and some drag racers are now using (my plan). Here's some info:

Never mounted 24502560 SB2 heads (CNCed at GM and flow around 380cfm)
New valve covers with oilers
2.18 I/1.625 E coated titanium valves with dyno time
JE pistons/rings for 4.146-4.148 bore I'm told (should work with 5.7 rod 434) with dyno time
Crower SB2 solid roller lifters for standard SBC block with dyno time
New T&D 1.7 ratio shaft rockers with stronger steel shafts
New Edelbrock 2923 upper intake
New gaskets
Mix of new and used ARP studs/bolts

Basically everything you need is there except the valley cover (SB2 or SB2.2 work and are available new from GM for $200) and springs and retainers which are easy to find for these heads to match your specific cam, and pushrods of course. Pistons are easy to get a hold of, even brand new, when people order the wrong ones and let them go cheap if you need another set of pistons for your engine. One spring seat as you'll see doesn't seem to be fully machined. Very cheap fix. Most guys with SB2s take the seats out to 1.65" for better valvetrain control anyway.

Just a pair of those 560s are $5000-$7000 depending where you get them. That is bare. I added all of this stuff up ($800 valve covers, $1200+ rockers, etc, etc...) and it adds to over $14K and still well over $11K doing half price on dyno-time parts. You won't find another new, ported top end for close to this. I wish I had the money to finish this engine, but I went another direction.

This post is over 2 years old man. Everything is long gone. I don't even have any SBC parts anymore, just Turbo Buick stuff now. Sorry.
