9 Bolt 3.27 For Sale

Bought this as a spare to have around, now I'd like to get rid of it. Has been partially disassembled...axles removed, sitting in assembly loose, brake parts are there, but I don't know how useable they are. I am no expert, but gears appear to be in good condition.

Am very willing to pull the center section out and sell and ship that...won't ship entire axle because of its size and weight. Posi appears to be working properly. If you need me to check anything, let me know. $150 for the center section (gears and posi) alone.

Thanks for your time.

Thanks for your interest. I bought this axle already removed from a car, so I can't tell you that I know the posi works because I was laying two dark strips on my street...wish I could. Holding one hub, while trying to turn the other side, the other side won't turn. This is one way to test a posi, correct? And as for the gears, although I am no expert, I do not see any wear marks or pieces missing. Can takes pics if that will help.

I understand totally, man, I'd do research too before plunking down my hard-earned bucks. Let me know what you find out, and I'll do the test for you. I'm as honest as they come, but not an expert so I can only represent the part to the best of my ability.

thats teh win and lose of buyin used. i bought a posi and gear for 140 and teh posi lasted about a year but i could tell it was already bad in the car.. didnt leave even patches of rubber. i've heard to lock one wheel from turning and use a torque wrench to turn the the other and see if it takes less than 30-40 lbft to move. if less its bad.

i'd love to find another to replace my broken one. else i might part out the rear

Gears and posi are sold. Axles are still available. If you would like them, I will try to find a box to ship. $50 for the pair. If anyone wants the bare housing as well, let me know.

Posi test.For future reference.
I believe the pressure is like 80lbs/ft. for a good used posi. You test it by adapting a torque wrench to one side of the axle in the center while rear is in the air and vehicle is in park or in gear, just as long as the other axle can't turn. This test is not true for the garbage gov-loc though.

leave the straps on the pinion where the rear universals bolts on to,and have a friend with a long bar shove it in there and stand on it,or hold it.

Been holding the gears and posi for weeks and weeks now for a fellow member who kept saying the money was on the way. Well, waiting time is over.

If anyone is serious and wants the posi and gears, drop me a PM. $150 plus shipping.
