Anyone need a peanut cam?
Anyone need a peanut cam?
I don't know why anyone would need it, but I just got a cam for my 1986 TPI motor in. The one that's in it right now is as far as I know the standard GM camshaft, I bought the motor with 125K on it. I'd want something like 15 shipped in the US. I havn't pulled the old one yet and the lifter #s would be indexed.

I'm not completely up on my GM lingo, but I'm fairly sure your cam is not the peanut cam. A TPI 305 would have the same cam as the L69. .404"/.414" lift int./exh. Both the L69 and LB9 had that cam. The LG4 (and consequently the L03) would have had the more docile peanut cam you mentioned, if my info is right. If anyone has better info feel free to correct me. However it's still a cam with 125k miles on it.
The 85 was the "good" cam (if it was the 85 cam I'd leave it in there and save the trouble) however they went back to the "lame" cam in 86. Yeah, I sorta figured there wouldn't be any interest but you never know. Figured someone may want something to decorate their wall with or shoot from a pneumatic cannon or something.
