does this mount to the trans or crossmember? what mufflex exhuast piece did you need to get around? y-pipe?

The torque arm package consists of a special crossmember (included) with driveshaft loop (included) and the spohn torque arm itself (included) . The load of the torque arm is transmitted directly to the crossmember instead of the factory method of transmitting the load to the trans tail shaft.

OK, just to confirm. I have the hooker long tubes 2210s & a mufflex off road Y-pipe. Will the this set-up fit my car? Did you do the modification? last time I talked to Spohn they said that they didn't make a torque arm that would fit my set-up.

The mufflex y-pipe will not bolt up directly as-received from mufflex. Some modification of the mufflex y-pipe were necessary before it could be used with this torque arm system. Unfortunately, I dont have any pictures of the final installation to be more descriptive about how I pulled it off. It was not easy, but it can be done. If I were to do a thirdgen all over again, I'd use this torque arm and custom fabricate an oval y-pipe from dr. gas oval bends.

Well I'm going to have to think about this. I already have the LT's & Y-pipe installed. If someone else is interested go ahead and take me out of line. thanks for all the input though.

I bought it from DB Electrical. You can contact them at dbelectrical@comcast.net or call at 800-753-2242. I'm sorry but I do not know the part number. It is not a single wire alternator...it is set up for factory wiring (thirdgen 90-92 serp systems). With the factory alternator, I had constant charging problems. I had a ton of electronics running in the car (DFI, laptop, wideband, gages, two amplifiers, etc). This thing solved my problems for good! Remember to use a 4 ga. wire to the battery from the output post. It's output is 105 amps at idle, but it lights up like mad above idle. It does not have the iceberg aft housing, but I have never have had any heat/charging problems with it.

Do you think this would still bolt on to car with a 3in factory routed exhaust with out having to remodife the loop. Will this fit a borg 9 bolt housing?

Absolutely! It will fit with any exhaust that runs the stock routing! Also, it will fit your 9 bolt and any 10 bolt or a moser 9".

How much do you want for the driveshaft shipped to CT? As long as it is vibration and ding free I am interested. Is it mild steel or cromoly? Approximate weight and torque capabilities? Thanks.

that's too bad, I have the spohn t-56 crosmember and torque arm combo already, other wise I'd be on this one. Out of curiosity what did the dshaft go for?
