Re: 3.27 gears for 9 bolt rearnd

will these fit my 86 trans am... currently have a 9 bolt 2.77... it's pretty sloppy with an annoying clang when put into drive, plus the jump in gears would be nice.... would you ship to tucson? would you know if i need any other parts for the swap? Thank you!

No they wont fit.The 2.77 gear 9 bolt is a 2 series carrier and will only fit up to 3.08.To fit a 3.27 gear you would need a 3 series carrier.Just an FYI

are you sure on that. you are talking about a gm 10 bolt. the 9 bolt may be different.

Re: 3.27 gears for 9 bolt rearnd

I have a 9 bolt and just went from a 3.08 to a 3.45 and had to change the differential. I'm sure 3.08 ,2.77 are 2 series differentials. I have an extra 3 series posi differential if someone is interested.

Re: 3.27 gears for 9 bolt rearnd

I second that. When I changed gears on my 9 bolt I had the 2.77 setup. Had to get the "3 series" carrier to run the 3.70 gears afterward.

Re: 3.27 gears for 9 bolt rearnd

I'm thinking around 80.00 plus shipping. I have no idea what it looks like inside. Also have a 3.27 gearset.
