Holy Grails are a dime a dozen! Now an unused T-ram...that's the stuff of legends. Personally, before I believe you own this alleged T-ram, I want to stick my fingers in the wounds...er...ports.

I'm not saying he doesn't have it but they are extremely rare and collectable, which will be the reason he can get his asking price. I can't afford it, but would grab this thing if I weren't buying a house.

Re: SLP T-Ram intake w/ 58 mm T body

In all seriousness, that intake only came on 91-92 SLP Firehawks (25 very rare, badass Firebirds; google them if you care to learn). But apparently there was a time you could buy these direct from SLP or through other vendors. Apparently it's good for 45 peak hp over a stock TPI manifold.

Where are you located? If you're close enough, I may consider taking a drive down to pick it up.

I have a build thread for the 310 on rcuniverse, lots of pictures, heres the link:

I know what you mean about nostalgia, but we have to draw the line somewhere with our expensive hobbies. i have so many unfinished projects, and so little free time these days, so a little damage controll is in order.

Cool. I had heard of Firehawks before. I think they had to be custom ordered and only 23 of the 25 were ever made if I'm not mistaken. 45 peak hp is damn nice too. They should've just put these intakes on all of them.

you almost got that right : only 25 of 27 were made. two orders were canceled so those cars were never built.

Ok, just to check, it also does not come with the T-RAM specific thermostat housing, and fuel pressure regulator either right? Just the manifold itself and the bolts that hold it together?

Re: SLP T-Ram intake w/ 58 mm T body
Let's just say I actually wanted to run this instead of putting it on display, what would I need besides the missing bolts? Are the other parts (T-stat, FPR, fuel-rails, etc?) readily availible to make this work? I was thinking about a FIRST manifold or the BBK (if it ever comes out), but this is intriguing... It would be going on a 1991 Formula 350 if that makes a difference.

come on guys. If I still had a tpi eng. I would be on this one like stink on well.....
I don't think the price is cheap or high it's just right. go pick it up befor some tool drills it and paints it like the rest you see for sale.
much longer and I might just buy it so I can look at it and touch it (with gloves on)
I jumped on the slp dual cold air... maybe I will to match it hummmmm

Re: SLP T-Ram intake w/ 58 mm T body
Missing bolts?
If they are easy to match up, why dont you do it? Then it would be more complete, as it is now, its not, esp for $1600.
peace

Re: SLP T-Ram intake w/ 58 mm T body
Very kool piece! Unfortunately it's missing the water filler neck and that's the impossible piece to find. From what I understand there's nothing remotely close that will work for the filler neck. Here are a couple pics of one I have. I'd like to have another for the right price!
FWIW I understand there were between 100 and 150 T-Rams built (mostly in preparation for the hopefull run of 250 Firehawk cars vs 25 actual cars.) SLP shipped a bunch to Summitt to sale and it took 'em a while to get rid of them all. There are still several NOS units laying around as they were cumbersome and hard to find parts for even when new.

Well then, you should buy this one for 1600.00 - thats the right price.
I cant imagine that a crafty person couldnt modify an off the shelf T stat housing, or even make a one out of a block of alum.

Re: SLP T-Ram intake w/ 58 mm T body
Well fellas, sorry bout your luck, the t-ram found a new home.....atop a GTA in NY.
Funny, didnt have to budge on the price, I guess he knew what he was gettin.
Oh well, It'll only be um.....25 years, before another 'new' t-ram surfaces again.......but theres always the painted and drilled ones on flea-bay.

Well good for you.
I seriously don't think it was the price as much as it was the average working class (most of the members here, including me) having $1600.00 to spend on it. JMO
I'm glad you got your asking price, and someone got something they truely wanted. Seems to be a win/win deal which is probably more rare than a T ram these days.

Re: SLP T-Ram intake w/ 58 mm T body
I am glad you got your price, however, I could care less what the intake looks like, as long as it performs. I know my heavily modded HSR Intake, and my new single plane efi will perform quite well. all of these parts and intakes costed well under a 1000.00, for the pair. 2 each his own
Re: SLP T-Ram intake w/ 58 mm T body
Thats right, 2 each their own. So next time you go to the part store and they hand you a part that looks like crud (drilled on, cut on, repainted 3 times, ported with a rasp, go a head and slap that baby on...

I'm not an a-hole that likes to gloat or say 'I told you so', but some sarcasm is in order. This whole thread is in the 'for sale' catagory, for a rare and collectable part. This isnt an opinion pole. Low ball offers made publicly? come-on.
All the negative comments from the peanut gallery- Everythying from 'its incomplete - so you should give it away" to "it doesnt exist, its a scam" to "mines better for half the price"
wow.
thanks for the help.
