Hello all,

I have this full TPI set from my '88 GTA that I just swapped to old school. All chromed and intake is polished aluminum. The engine it came off is a H.O. 305 roller. It ran perfectly when I removed it about a month ago, now it's in the shop taking up space. I'll take $200 (OBO) for the whole set + whatever it costs to ship to your location. I also still have almost every other piece that was removed from the engine to convert it to carb, if anyone's interested. Thanks for looking, hopefully it'll be of use to someone here. Later........................................Mike

Re: Chrome and polished TPI set
I measured the openings on the throttle plate and did the math. It's a "smidge" bigger than stock, the math translated to 50mm (50.00625mm to be exact). The throttle bracket is still here, but I re-used the cables and fabricated a new bracket to hook up to my Holley. I don't know if the intake is ported or not, but I did notice an increase in power when I put this setup on my engine in place of the original stock TPI that was in my car. I also still have the factory air duct work (no splits) and MAF (fully functional) from the throttle plate to the air filter box, have the air filter box as well. I did get a code for the EGR, so it may need to be replaced (or blocked off, lol). I also have the cover plate that attaches to the rear of the plenum to cover the distributor, It's not chrome but clean and painted black. Hope this info helps, later...................................Mike

Here are a couple shots of the runners and the unit re-assembled. Missing 2 bolts each side at center of runners-to-plenum, and no intake-to-engine bolts. Later.....................................Mike

Re: Chrome and polished TPI set
There was a guy on here that did a review about some kit you can buy to take those dents out, didn't turn out too well. You could just get a good set, port and then chrome them.

I promised it to mrtater earlier today, but if the shipping to Washington is too much for him, then it's still fair game. I will find out tomorrow and post the outcome as quickly as possible. later..........................................Mike

Re: Chrome and polished TPI set
mrtater,

I checked online with UPS and they quoted me around $140.00 to ship the package ground from Naples FL to Washington zip 99403, if the package does not exceed 100 pounds. I looked back through our records and found an LS-6 aluminum intake w/ supercharger that we shipped ground to California a couple months back and the shipping charge was $180.00 not including insurance. This package will be comparable in weight to the one shipped to Cali. I am located about as far southwest in Florida as you can go, it takes about 8 hours to get out of Florida when we take a trip. Please let me know if you want to pay that much for shipping, if we weren't located so far apart shipping would be cheaper for sure. Later......................................................Mike

Re: Chrome and polished TPI set
would you weigh it with just the complete intake tb and snorkle. I don't need the rest. The old intake i bought last year that isn't in that good of shape only cost about 40.00. to ship. I checked the online shipping to a commerical address, (The building our dock is located at) I work for Con-Way Freight, and no they won't give me any kind of discount. and it was about 60. for 50 lbs and 80 for 75 lbs. I really want this but can't do 140. plus. I just checked with fex ex ground and they can do a 18"x24"x12" 50 lb. pkg @ 50.00 value for 53.00. I can't remember if I went ups, fedex or postal on the last one. Sorry for being so much of a hassle to you. I hope we can get the shipping down. I would really like to finish off my motor with this.

Rick

Re: Chrome and polished TPI set
mrtater,

Here's what my boss says we will do. I will crate the TPI w/snorkel in a 18X12X25 box, at no charge above the $200. You must arrange the shipping from your end, UPS, Fed-Ex, USPS, whatever you choose. Our address is commercial, 6108 Janes Lane----Units 5 & 6----Naples, Florida 34109. The carrier of your choice can pick up the package here, as soon as funds are in the following Pay Pal account, musclecars4u@hotmail.com , they will charge YOU whatever the amount is for shipping according to final weight of the package. I hope this is satisfactory, I am doing this on the clock and my boss will not let me spend too much time on trying to find the cheapest shipping and such. Please let me know if this works for you, as others are also interested in purchasing this item. Thanks, later...................Mike

P.S. Username TIMMYS89GTA is next in line for the offer, should you choose not to accept.

Re: Chrome and polished TPI set
Funds confirmed. SOLD!!! to mrtater99, for 1,000,000 dollars. How would you like to pay for that sir? Paper or plastic? Seriously though, I'll have it ready for Fed-Ex in the morning sometime. About the cardboard, I've worked in plenty of shipping depts. myself, and I've seen cardboard packages after a long trip. I spent about 2 hours tonight building a light weight box for the TPI. I'd hate to see it damaged between here and there, as would you, I'm sure. I'm at home now, but I'll post a pic of the box tomorrow morning after I get to work. Feel free to PM me with any questions, now or later. I recommend going to your local auto parts store and see if they carry "Nev-R-Dull" in the little round metal can. I will use NOTHING else to clean my chrome. We used it in the Navy, and I've sworn by it ever since. Thanks for the purchase, keep in touch here for sure. Later...........................................Mike
