Up for sale is the 10 bolt rear that is currently in my 1985 Z-28. It was rebuilt approximately 2200 miles ago. It has a Auburn Pro posi unit, Precision Performance ring and pinion gears(3.73 ratio), Moser axles, ARP extended axle studs, MAC stud girdle cover. It also has VGX brake pads with tons of meat left. All new bearings and seals. I just replaced the axle bearings and seals last year (even though it didn't need it) when i installed the Moser axles. This is about as bulletproof as you can get for a 7.5" rear. The year has all street time on it. No track passes. Asking $800 B/O

The rear does not leak or make an weird noises. The RTV that's in the pic was put there because I thought it was leaking there but it wasn't. (I forgot to tighten the drain plug on the Stud girdle cover.Anyway I never scraped the RTV off)

da_jester I would possibly meet you somewhere by exit 9 or 10 on the NJ Turnpike that's about 1 hour from me.

As far as shipping I am not shipping something this big.

As far as pics go i am not opening up the rear . I can guarntee you that it looks good. if you come down i'll open it up at that point, but not before then. I personally opened it up ,put the axles in, new axle bearings and seals and installed the stud girdle cover and added Royal Purple gear oil.. the rear looked good inside . if you are serious lets just make up a sday to meet you won't be disappointed.

 

Hey i live on long island . will travel. Looking for a rear with 373s for my 88 gta i belive i have a stock 9 bolt australian rear ??? can i put this right in? sorry for lack of knowledge

 

The rea will bolt right up. I believe as long as yours is disc also then you don't have to change anything els. If it is drum brakes then you will need a master cylinder and proportioning valve from a car w/ rear disc brakes.

 

ok. so very intrested . is this what i want is the question ? rebuilding the 88 gta . have the money willing to drive to you. rebuilding the 700r4 tranny has stock 350 with jus bolt on stuff 4 now hedders chip pullys exhuast .. gonna ask some friends but dont wanna miss the deal. not enough know how to convince my self any feedback?

No can't go that low. $700 w/ stock cover and $750 w/ stud girdle cover. can't build this rear for this much.

george giveme a break 2200 miles is basically brand new. I could see if I said 22,000 miles or 220,000 miles. I have someone coming tomorrow thanks anyway.

George i wasn't offended by the offer but by the reason. 2200 is not a lot of miles. Its just broken in at that point. But Anyway like i said I ahve a sale pending if anything cheanges I'll let everyone know.

you guys lowballing aint right do the math 1300 easy to duplicate with parts and labor 4 for the posi 3 for the gears and install kit 3 on the axles 2 on the cover lube and other incidentals at least another buck ,and then there is the labor . i have 2 grand in mine i just did . by the way dp we are just up the road in perkasie . if it doesn't sell in the next week or so i'll buy it for a spare money tight finishing the little red roc's cooling and fuel system at the moment .
