New Spohn Steering Kit w. Ball Joints
Hey guys - I picked this up on a slight whim before too thoroughly diagnosing everything, thinking that it was likely the linkage giving me slop and that I'd replace it all regardless just to have new components in the front end. Well... the majority of the slop was coming from the steering box itself, and I'm starting to think I won't really build much around this chassis. All new in box, w/ Ball Joints. From Spohn this is $350 plus shipping. I opened some of the pieces to inspect the quality, as I was curious how it compared now that they're using their own in-house components as opposed to Moog.
Selling for $340 shipped on the east coast, as this is a heavy box. If it's farther to ship, I'll get you a quote and we'll go from there.

Do you still have the kit? Wish I was still stationed in Pax River, MD. I'd go pick it up. Please quote me for shipping to Orange Park, FL 32065. What is the round about asking price right now?

Still available, as I'm not willing to split up individual parts at this point, unless I had buyers lined up for most of the pieces. All still together, packed up, and ready to ship.

Re: New Spohn Steering Kit w. Ball Joints
How much $$$ do you want for it with shipping to 53045. It would be a commercial address with a daily pick up/drop off. I would need everything... yup, ball joints too. Apparently two years of constant autocrossing will really take a toll on steering components.
My steering wheel can be turned ~15 degrees each way before the wheels start moving. LOL

Re: New Spohn Steering Kit w. Ball Joints
Actaully, I just checked with Spohn and I can get the exact same thing shipped to me directly from them for only $5(+change) more then what your asking. Or I can wait until around Christmas time when they ussually have a sale and save ~$30 from what your asking. Thanks, but I'm just going to wait. I've been driving this way for the last couple months so what's a couple more? If it gets worse I'll just drive my motorcycle.
Good luck with the sale.

Re: New Spohn Steering Kit w. Ball Joints
Unless you have some discount that you're entering in, I don't know where you're getting your prices from. I just got a quote from their site for the full kit with ball joints, and it's $5 and change more than my asking price BEFORE shipping, and $21 and change with shipping to a business address in your zip code. So, I don't know where you're getting your price from... if that's a discount code you have, awesome.
Look guys... I've said it before over PM's and such... but I'll say it again here. The kit, with ball joints, including an online order discount from Spohn is $344.84. Shipping is coming out of PA for a 21lb box that's 24x10x6, with a value of $350. The shipping quote from Spohn that I just pulled up for racing geek's location was for a business address in his area and came to 16.37. Spohn's shipping quote could care less if you have a daily pickup or not... just business or residential.
I was asking $340 shipped a month and a half ago, and have stated since to make an offer. If you want to make an offer, do so.
I know how much they charge for the kit and how much they charge to ship. I'll gladly take any offers. Obviously the one for $50 didn't work...
...but I'm willing to work on any trades or other offers to a price shipped. Like I said... just shoot out something reasonable and we'll work with it...

Re: New Spohn Steering Kit w. Ball Joints
No... that was with balljoints and shipping. I have a discount code which is why it came up cheaper for me. I know it is difficult to convey emotion/tone online so I'm sorry if I made anyone upset. If you would like, I'll edit my posts sometime around noon after I get some sleep. I didn't know you were taking offers. I thought it was 340 shipped for the east coast and more the further west you were.
My apologies,
Mike

Really, I'll need to get a set like this eventually... so if I can't get 300+shipping for them, it's really not worth the loss I'd take just to get rid of them for now. If I can't get that... I'll just keep 'em! Joined: May 2001

Then really, you should not be asking people to make offers and just set your price from the start.
Nobody is going to jump all over this to save $20 from Spohn.
When you buy new and pay full price, then try to re-sell you need to be prepared to take a loss, in this case 15-20% is not bad.

I think $300 shipped is definitely worth it, You would be saving a good $40-$70 from this deal. If I could install these myself I'd buy them, but since I have to wait to get mine installed, x-mas will be my purchasing time.
Bump for a good deal.

...Really?
I did set an asking price at the start. That is how much I was hoping to get for it at the time. Time has now passed, and no one has chosen to purchase it. I told people they were more than welcome to make offers... and I was completely open with anyone who asked that I wasn't willing to do anything less than $300+shipping - It's just not worth the loss to me in that case. I'll keep it and use it later.
I have had a number of people who were prepared to buy this already - at higher prices than 300+shipping. But then for one reason or another - unexpected bills, needing it that day, etc... they've passed.
I know what I need to be prepared for. This is honestly the first board that I've been on where public pricing disputes like this - telling the seller they're unreasonable - is allowed at all... let alone seen from a mod. Please... if you want it, you know the price I'm asking, and that I'm willing to hear offers. If you don't agree with my price... and it is truly that unreasonable... just let it fall to the back.
I'm putting this up because I don't need it right now. If I were in the market for this kit, and I found one like this for sale in the classifieds, I'd be glad to buy it here and save some $$ over buying it from Spohn. Nothing against Spohn! But if a guy doesn't need a part, and is willing to let me save some money and take it off his hands... I'd be glad to help. That's what I'm doing here. I know there's probably lots of guys... like myself... who keep an eye out for ridiculous deals on parts that you don't NEED right now... but if one came up for such a great deal that you just couldn't pass up... you'd get it anyways. This may not be that incredible deal... but you'll still be saving.

thenjoshsays - Nobody is telling you that you are unreasonable, just implying you misjudged what you thought you could get quickly and are now being a stickler on the price after obviously not moving it after 2 months.
It appeared you were really wanting to make a deal and accepting reasonable offers from all these posts below, which I believe $300 shipped is one that I had offered at the time. Now you are apparently willing to wait and don't need them gone, fair enough.

You're more than welcome to hold out for somebody waiting to save a small amount, I've done it myself. Anyways, enough said, you're welcome for the free bumps.

Re: New Spohn Steering Kit w. Ball Joints
Shipping really shouldn't be 30-40. From VA to Cali, it might get a bit steep... which is why I was hoping for something not to far away... unless the buyer is willing to compensate.
If shipping was really 30-40 for this item across the board... then that asking price of $340 shipped would really be quite the deal! Right about at that 15-20% off new that I should be expecting to take as a hit
Just to clear any confusion... I will sell it for $300+actual cost of shipping. Anywhere US.
