^It would not work for that application. It should work for any 305 auto with the MAF TPI from 87 to 89.
Basically it changes the fuel and timing curves along with some parameters like fan control.

Isn't the 89 a speed density car which would mean it wouldn't work for the older MAF cars?

Ok, i wasnt sure if it was 89 or 90 when the switch was made but i figured i would ask to be sure. Do you have to use their fan switch when you use their chip? Would the chip still work with an upgraded cam and ported heads and intake? Did you notice any difference?

fan switch: no
I definitely noticed a difference, and my setup was properly modified as they suggest for a Stg 2 chip.
It would be much better than a stock tune file for the mods you listed.
I just looked and this part is $210 new; damn I put my price too low. oh well
I'm going to call Jet in the morning and ask about the model year compatibility just to make sure.

JET was not much help.
Anyway, on second thought, I don't think 87' models had VATS and they have a cold start provision as well. So, this chip won't work for that year. I may work in an 88' though.

I'm not sure if it matters or not; the computer still has the parameters for those systems, and if the chip doesn't have a reason to modify them everything should be kosher.
