the pinion spacer needs the shims to work, how would you set your pinion depth without it? Il offer you 25$ shiped to canada on the pinion spacer, summit wants 16.95 for it brand new, and shipping by usps shouldnt be more than 6-7$. LMK

PM sent to OWNOR
Yes the cover does have the Bearing cap supports. They are the setscrew locknut type that press on the carrier bearings.

I can probably do 25 shipped for the spacer if ownor does not want it.
KWIK84
The cover may be spoken for also but the gears will still be available. Did you mean 100 shipped for the gears and the cover or just the gears?
Thanks

Both, let me know when you find out about the cover, still interested in the gears though as long as they are for a 3 series carrier.

JTNKTZ
The posi may be spoken for I should know tomorrow after lunchtime.
KWIK84
I cant do 100 for the gears and cover together but if you end up buying them both I would reduce the price a little since it would save me some trouble packing stuff up and shipping
I wanted to get 100 shipped for the gears but that may be a little ambitious.
I dont remember what series they were. I thought they were series 3 because I always remembered the series 2 4.10s looking really thick. Now I am second guessing that
Does anyone know how thick the series 2 or 3 4.10 gears should be? This ring gear is 1-7/16 thick and has a little boss that looks kinda like one of those ring gear spacers so maybe it is a 2. Here are some close-ups that may help identify as I cannot seem to find any good info and I dont have another set to compare them to. Sorry to post an add without knowing that first.

Re: 7.5 rear 4.10 gears, zexel, posi aluminum cover and bearings
the solid pinion spacer is just a replacement of the crush sleeve collar, right? if not, i was thinking of something else and don't need it.Dan, replied your pm about the cover. Thanks for the info.

To clear up any confusion on the spacer it is a solid replacement for the crush sleeve and should have nothing to do with the pinion depth unless you really screwed something up. The shims are only needed when using the spacer and are for setting the proper bearing pre-load because the crush sleeve usually takes care of that by the compressing when the nut is torqued. Since the spacer does not crush the shims determine the pre-load or "smash" on the bearings when the nut is tightened.
Status on other stuff:
I think the cover and probably the spacer are sold
I still have the
Gears $100 shipped
posi $120 shipped
bearings and seals $? hopefully someone will give me few bucks for them to be included with one of the other sales.
Thanks

Does the Zexel fit any 7.5 or is it specific to late model units...possibly with anti-lock brakes?

wesilva
sorry the posi is gone
Ownor
As far as I can tell the gears are GM and series 3.
I remember the guy I bought them from said they were GM but I have no real way to prove it. He had them in an impala and had to change carriers to go from 2.73s or 3.08s to these. That would make sense that he would have gone from the 2 to 3 series to use them.
if they were series 2 they would be a lot thicker.
The ring gear has this stamped on it:
10090-gm7.5-410-10x41
I didnt get any results searching that number.

Sorry the cover is gone.
The only thing left is the gears and I am awaiting payment on them so they are most likely sold. I will update if it falls thru.
THanks everyone.
