T56 trans, complete FS (pics added)

Out of LT1 Fbody

Kept as a spare, mines out getting fixed now will probably not use this.

Supposedly out of a lower (sub 50k mi) car not dug up out of a junkyard.
Complete with bellhousing, have slave too.

$850 all, you pick up shipping or may deliver local.

Selling to pay repair bill on mine.

Will get PN and pics up next day or so.

How far are you from Hayward CA? I may know a guy w/ a container there. This thing is almost too cheap to pass up. I've been wanting a T56.

Re: T56 trans, complete FS

Im about 20 min North of Los Angeles, I could ask my machinist if hed be open to using his freight co. Be nice if I had a trans case (think Summit sells them) to ship in rather than strapping to a pallet, would be a good deterrent to avoid any damage.

I kept it as a spare....recently had something stupid go wrong out of the blue with mine, being as I wanted to recheck the balance on my FW I went ahead and took this one in to get fixed so the other one is sitting collecting dust.
Just took it to the wrong shop (getting ho$ed) thats all lol.

honestly Id love to keep it and build it with all the trick parts, have a good source but $ is tight right now this 67 hates my wallet lol.

Edit: Yes I figured it was a good price, was shocked when I saw bellhousings alone going for 3-400 my God. Thats rediclulous

Re: T56 trans, complete FS

Try and get a pic for you tomorrow, getting ready for work right now(work nights). Bellhousing is on it, stock shifter (part that bolts to the trans with the stub not the handle). It will show in the pics. No FW or clutch. Ill get apic of the slave also and the PN/tag on the trans

Pretty sure Carolina clutch has a decent setup for less than the Centerforce. Using the CF setup now, like it but thought Id put it out there in case youre number crunching.

Re: T56 trans, complete FS

Excuse the pics had to dig it out of the recesses of my dungeon. Pics dont show it, this trans is clean (oustside of the dust). I suspect from the sticker this was a replacement trans from GM meaning warranty replacement so likely newer than the year.

Tag reads
2550647 F0942
386-009 b27345

If Im not mistaken 93-95 which gets it the good gearing ratios I could be wrong though. Doubt youll break it running mine behind a 550chp 350 with no problems I hit a freak problem in mine.

Anyway firm on price but wanna get it out of here pronto as my bill is due on mine. If it doesnt sell I guess down the road might add some trick parts to it and swap it in down the road. Shoot me a pm, post or??

I have the slave in a bag havent looked at it hard but has a braided detachable line on it. Believe the shifting fork may still be on it have to go back and take a peek. If youve ever had to buy parts for these youll see this is a deal.

I do not have any other swap parts for 3rd gen but theres lots of threads here on how to. Ill assist any way I can, retrofitted mine into a muscle car back in 99 before any of these kits were out. Not hard at all.

Can you check how much shipping would be? I'll have to inquire if the guy w/ the container is there right now, could be he's back here. I'll check into it. I am severely interested!!!!!

BTW, your name rings a bell, are you a member of corvetteforum or perhaps vettemod??

Yes Ive been on corvetteforum for a number of years

My Zip code is 91311 Chatsworth Ca if that helps. I dont know the first thing about shipping freight but am open. I think it would be best to get a trans case (think Summit sells them) perhaps a trans shop may have one thats the safest. If you come up with a great way to do this Im open.

Oh by the way, I opened the bag there are 2 slaves, the brakcet for it AND the stock shifter with the ****.
This is a steal

Assuming this scattershield I ordered mounts up Ok I may be selling the bellhousing off my trans too thats already in my car.
Its fully polished, a nice job. Can do the other if you like along with the slave bracket on the bottom. Some dont like that stuff, I enjoy doing it.

No deposits taken yet so its still available.

Id need some help on figuring shipping havent sent out something this size before, I will check with my machinist and see what freight would run but I need a zip code of where it may be going. Any help would be appreciated so I can get this outta here.
Im open to driving it somewhere to an extent anything can be worked out

I can get the trans shipped freight using US logistics for no more than $150 strapped to a pallet and shrink wrapped may even be a touch less.

To get it to the Netherlands youll need it crated in heat treated wood according to the guy I spoke to @the freight co. I can get it to Hayward as I posted but just a heads up may take a different packaging to get it on a ship just so youre not stuck.

I'm buying as long as we can determine its one of the 450 ft lb versions and twin_turbo's deal falls through. Can anyone help decode the numbers. Or Cruisin, can you confirm it has a 0.5 ratio 6th gear. That would help a lot.

Re: T56 trans, complete FS (pics added)

Been communicating with TT for a couple days so to be fair Ill give him first shot. If it falls through youre next in line. They all have the .050 gear as far as I know. The ft lb rating Im not positive on. have to look the numbers up.

In case your interested they rate the TQ in 6th gear only which is just cruising gear. My guess is GM was way conservative as usual with these.
Their ZF 6 spds are rated for that and can take the abuse of 9 and 10 sec cars so regardless I think youll be fine.

This would be the number to call in,2550647 I beleve the F in front of the next # denotes F body but Im no expert.

There was a 0.62 6th gear version in the early cars. Those I believe were only rated for 400 ft lb. There was also a 0.62 version with the goofy 3.36 first gear that was only rated for 350 ft lb. If you can confirm its a 0.50 6th gear we know its one of the 450 ft lb versions.

I'm cool with waiting behind TT.

Ok when i can get a minute Ill try and look it up.
The low tq rating I think was on the 93s. THey had a nice gear spacing though. see what I can find out.

Cruisin,

Do you know what year car this came out of? Also, you can just put it in 6th and spin the input shaft once. The output should turn exactly twice.

why don't you simply wait in the end of the line? This thing is as good as sold. I will send him the money. The details are in getting it shipped to the container address. Simply have to receive confirmation that it's OK to ship there so no need to bluntly step in line and wave your green.

TT you have a pm, having a real issue with my trans i just got back from the shop for my own car.

Not to be a jerk but Im not selling it for 800 these go for up to 1500 on the bay all day long in this condition. Just had mine gone through and the one for sale is tighter than my own. I know Im selling it cheap, just dont like to dicker on price and wait, once I want something gone I want it gone quick thats all.

Mr. Cruisin,

Are you saying the trans is back up for sale? If so I believe I was next after TT. Have you determined this is a 0.5 sixth gear trans? If so, I am still ready to buy if the deal with TT is off. Let me know, I'll paypal the money to you asap.

Thanks,

John

Trying to make something happen with TT Im not the type to sell something out from underneath someone waiting a day or week for money wont make a difference in life lol. I missed out on a LOT of deals because I dont have web access at work it was frustrating plus hes out of the country.
Keep you posted TT. Thanks to the rest for showing interest keep you posted.

Ok Twin. No worries, I'm just trying to make sure nobody gets in line in front of me either. Cruisin seems like a good guy to deal with.
