Re: Medium block 350, high compression, high nickle.

It's a Buick 350. The Buick 350 V8 had a 3.80 in (97 mm) bore (like the 231) and retained the 3.85 in (98 mm) stroke of the 340. It was introduced in 1968 and produced through 1980. It's oil pump is external like any Buick including the V6. It is lighter than a Chevrolet 350 but not supported as much by the aftermarket as the Chevrolet. You can get great horsepower from them if your pockets are deep. Must use transmissions specifically for the BOP (Buick, Olds, Pontiac) bolt pattern. Will not bolt up to a Chevrolet transmission...as least without an adapter. The only exception being the 200 4R which has both Chevrolet and BOP bolt patterns built in.

Interesting. That's what I was assuming, but didn't know the details. Good luck with the sale.

Re: Medium block 350, high compression, high nickle.

i had it paired with a chevy 400 tranny, 4:10 gears. that poston intake is a rare find. they went out of buisness in the 80's so its hard finding a S divider poston intake. the motor runs extremely smooth because the stroke and bore are almost equal, gives more torque and hp at a lower rpm than my old 350. really cuts loose around the corners
