Third Gen Rear Disc Brake Posi rearend
I have an 87 Camaro/Firebird rearend for sale at $350 firm. It is a 9 bolt Aussie rear with 3:27 posi and disc brakes in super condition. The brake calipers are mounted one on the rear of the rotor and the other on the front of the rotor. Comes with brake cables complete. The US gear is a gm corporate 10 bolt, the aussie gear is a borg warner built in australia 9 bolt cone style posi

Interesting. And I'm interested but you're too far away (400 miles) to make a special trip. Is it externally all the same as the US set? How did an Australian built rear get here? Were they used on US 3rd gens? I have to go to Santa Barbara in July so if you still have it then maybe, if it's more or less a direct bolt in.

The 9 bolt was factory equipment on the performance optioned cars

Do all the disc rear ends have one caliper in front and one behind?

All the early ones yes, the later ones and the 1LEs got the alu pbr rear calipers, they are both trailing, not one trailing one leading.
Typical GM, cheaper to make 1 part and use it on both sides
