The design of this motor is to incorporate drive ability. It easily idles @ 600 rpm with no noticeable cam loop, very quietly with 10.75:1 compression ratio. Meant to run on 93 octane can run lower. No problem to get 34 degree timing. CAN YOU SAY 11 sec. SLEEPER. Lots and Lots bottom rpm band with noticeable 435+ HP upper end. Has much more potential for even more horsepower. Sounds like a good deal... but with that much compression and iron heads. Im suprised you could get any timing into it on pump gas.

You're absolutly right, with the 114 lobe separation camshaft in there, it now making too much cylinder pressure down low which couls cause pre ignition a.k.a. ping & detonation! Sounds like a great deal, good luck moving it.

look at most of the newer vehicles on the road today............
all running at this compression..............
