Hello, I have a small cap distributer and a external coil for a tpi car for sale. Im asking $50 plus shipping. Thats less then what i payed for then and i havent even installed either one. So dont ask for it for less.

 

What brand is the distributor?

 

Both appear to be the factory parts or stock replacement parts. I haven't taken the cap off to see if it's got a different ign module in it however.

No, I bought the coil off of a guy here that was parting out a car. And bought the distributer off ebay. Both used. I never installed either of them onto my car because i switched to a tpi harness that was for a large cap distr.

 

How can you tell what year TPI this is for? Need one for my 92.

 

The small caps were used after 86 in the cars with TBI or TPI. 92's either had TBI or TPI if i remember correctly so it will work with yours as long as you have that. If its a carbed car with vac adv. then it wont work. If you want it, its yours for $40 plus ship. Im taking a loss at that price.

you should post a picture of the flange. there are a difference for the later tbi car's and trucks and will not work on a tpi. the coil bracket you have is tbi.

 

Here is a pic of the flanges. I was unaware of the differences so thanks for pointing that out. It looks like mine is the smaller flange. I also was sold the coil as a tpi coil, but if its for a tbi then im glad it was noticed now instead of after its sold. As i said i never installed these.

 

coil will work on tpi and so will the dist. the coil bracket will only mount on tbi intake.

Still have these. As shown in the pictures and confirmed by tunedperf. it works with any tpi car that has a small cap distr. and so will the coil, but the bracket for the coil is to mount to TBI.
