Re: Chip Burning items
Hey 93BlackTA. Are you selling these reprogram items? I have a 91 Z28 and trying to disabled the EGR Diagnose. Since I keep getting the infamous Code 32 (EGR). It's a recall but GM won't fix this problem anymore. If you are selling can you give the items specs? And how much do you want for them? If not then can you assist on help out a fellow Camaro brother on where to get the items and software to reprogram the chips to disable the diagnose?

Re: Chip Burning items
I'm not sure if you are selling these burning items. Maybe we have a miscommunication. Are you selling the burning prom adapter, prom, and software? If so how much and am I missing anything else to do this? I have a 91 z28 5.7 auto. Let me know?

Re: Chip Burning items
Yes items listed are for sale...prices are listed at top in first post of thread. The only thing you would need is a program to change your existing tune (tuner cats etc)
Thanks

Re: Chip Burning items
Okay before going any further. I've go the software Tunerpro RT. Now you said you had 3 empty chips. What EDM ID are they. Because 86-89 are the same and they use 1227165. I have a 91 so 90-92 are 1227730. Let me know before we go any further.

Re: Chip Burning items
yes im pretty sure the chips i used for flash burning were the 27sf512
Re: Chip Burning items
Make sure you get genuine SST 27sf512 chips from Moates. There are only two places for these discontinued chips as the remaining supply was bought up. I Don't remember off hand the other company.
I recently bought a supply of supposedly genuine SST chips. Wrong! They were counterfeit. They were re-stamped Winbond W27C512 chips which will program OK with Flash and Burn but will not erase. So beware of counterfeits. EBay is full of them and if the are less than $5 they probably are bad.

Re: Chip Burning items
I think GM charges thousands of people to fix bad EGR valves on their cars every year that are out of warrantee. Even catalytic converters and other emissions parts are only warranted to 100000 miles at least here in the Midwest. But California is a lot harsher so maybe just to clarify for all, what law are you referring too?

Re: Chip Burning items
I live in Cali. Over here you must be able to pass emissions which meet C.A.R.B.. We have the toughest and most strict air quality standards. I don't know how the law is in other states but isn't a recall from the dealer a free fix? I currently have a recall on my Camaro about the lighting or something in that area. But when I went to GM, they told me that the recall is not in their system, even after verifying through the, IIRC, National Highway Safty website. I never had a issue with my emissions equipment. So I can't say it's mandatory for GM responsible for the repair. It was just a thought that I put out there. I have the luxury of living in a small town. I have no cat, no A.I.R. equipment, and no smog pump. So I'm running the risk of a extremely hefty fine.

Re: Chip Burning items
I think about 40% - 60% of us members have some kind emissions delete which would be considered illegal. Isn't there a time limit that would make our 3rd gens smog exempt? This year my IROC hit classic status (26 years old).
