Re: AS&M Throttlebody, new, mounted but never run on the motor
From what AS&M said it was 85-59 for sure. You can see the mounts in the last photo (please verify with what you have). it has the clip style kick down and the throttle and cruise control mounts are the C or oh **** (when it goes flying...) clip style
Re: AS&M Throttlebody, new, mounted but never run on the motor
More info from Jim at AS&M on the monoblade;
What he said was;
The throttle body's used to be made out of cast aluminum. Approximately 10 years ago they changed their process to billet aluminum (which this one is). It has a stainless steel throttle blade and it has bronze bushings. He said that the stainless steel can handle a nitrous backfire very well if that has any relevance.
Due to the third gen being a low volume item they are made on a request only basis and you have to send in your throttle cam to be fitted on the throttle body shaft. The reason for this is that GM used 5 different throttle/cruise/trans configurations on the C4 Corvette and the third gen F-body. He stated that they don't keep any inventory (overhead) due to costs. The throttle cam on my throttle body appears to be stainless steel and the cable mounts were welded into the throttle cam.
In saying all of this, there is no part number for the throttle body, as I did ask him as well. A majority of the throttle bodies they produce now are for the LT-1 car's and GM's big block ramjet's use the same cable configuration as the LT-1's do.
