'92 V6 700R4/ 4L60 (Rebuilt 2018, 50k~ miles)

Heya,

With my recent manual swap, I now have a spare 700R4/ 4L60 available! It's the original transmission from my '92 3.1 Firebird, and was rebuilt back in 2018. I do have receipts for the rebuild in my filing cabinet at home, it was done professionally by a shop in Fredericksburg for $1600 after the original input shaft seal started leaking. Every gear feels perfect, shifts very well, no weird noises or vibrations. Completely stock rebuild, no shift kit or anything fancy, stock or stock replacement converter I believe. My odometer has not worked since around that time unfortunately (broken plastic gear in the gauge cluster), but estimated mileage since the rebuild is around 40-50k. I daily drive my Firebird, but my commute isn't too terribly long, so this is my best guess. Was behind a stock 3.1L the whole time, saw one poor attempt at a burnout back in college (in 1st gear, on brakes, with an open rear), never been raced or neutral dropped. Doesn't leak, but could probably use a new filter and pan gasket; the pan has not been removed since the rebuild. Vent tube is still intact, transmission didn't have any leaks when it was pulled. Lost a couple quarts of fluid getting it out from under my car, forgot that the dipstick hole was wide open. Fluid was slightly dark, but still very red, no sparkles and didn't smell burned. Input shaft is totally solid, no play on that. The case itself could use cleaning, has some motor oil buildup due to a leaking rear main (you can see pics of the old rear main in my TKX swap thread over in the Transmission forum, was kinda funny). No cracks or broken bits on the case/ tailhousing/ bellhousing, no stripped threads. Comes with all the parts you'd need to bolt it into another V6 thirdgen, nothing was cut or broken during my manual swap (apart from the trans tunnel grommet on the shift cable).

Parts include:
-The rebuilt 700R4/ 4L60
-VSS still installed, has speedo gears for a 3.23 rear and factory sized tires (215/60/15s originally, still read properly with the 245/50/16s); this is for an electronic speedo car, should work in any 86-92 Firebird, or electronic speedo Camaro (unsure what year they switched to electronic)
-Factory shifter with a t-handle in pretty decent shape
-Unfortunately the console trim plate (86-92 Firebird style) is cracked back by the switches, but I can include it if you want. It's in 3 pieces, but the gear indicator assembly is intact, boot is good, has holes for window and mirror switches (does not include switches or bezels). Ashtray in good shape, with cigarette lighter, does not include metal insert for the tray itself. The little soft-close gear is still intact and working on the ashtray door. You can see where the plate is cracked when you have it bolted in, but all the switch holes are still intact, and everything stays in place when the plate is bolted in. You could probably get it pretty close to decent if you know how to plastic weld or whatever, I never made an attempt at this though.
-Torque arm mount with all bolts (could use a new bushing); does not include the exhaust hanger mount, I had to use this with my TKX swap
-Inspection cover
-Stock or stock replacement torque converter w/ bolts
-Newer flex plate (2018) with the shim/ washer and all 6 bolts
-Energy Suspension poly trans mount (circa 2022 or so, still in good shape)
-Shifter cable (sans grommet), with the actuator
-TV cable
-Key cylinder lock cable (the sleeve is torn, cable is still in one piece. Can't swear that it works since my key has never locked into the ignition cyl in my time of ownership, but I can include it anyways. There's a spot for it to clip into the shifter bracket/ onto the shifter assembly, which is intact)
-Stock crossmember
-Coolant lines for the radiator (one has been cut and flared with a rubber line to fix a leaky fitting, no leaks since that was done in 2021)
-27 spline slip yolk from a 1LE driveshaft (probably needs a new u-joint; joint is fine, but the grease fitting snapped off when I pressed it out of the driveshaft)
-Two dipsticks (the factory one, and a locking 4thgen one that was cut down to the proper length) + the dipstick tube
-If you REALLY want, I can also include the sheet metal from where I cut the shifter hole for my manual swap. Useless to me since I don't have a welder, but it's a good little square of trans tunnel metal, no rust.

I think I remembered everything I have to go with it, I can edit it later when I get back to see it this weekend if I find anything else that should be included. I should also have the pigtails for the VSS and shifter, and there SHOULD be enough length on the wires for both to be reused, but I can't swear to that at the moment. It is currently stored at a friend's house about 20 minutes from me, since dad doesn't want it taking up space in his garage, so I'll post pictures sometime this weekend. I have a picture or two from when I pulled it out of the car, but you can't really see it all too well; I'll post them after work today.

This is a great shifting transmission, had absolutely 0 issues when I pulled it from my car; I just wanted a manual. The transmission has been very good to me since the 2018 rebuild, and I would like to see it go to a good home where it'll get to live on. LOCAL PICKUP ONLY, I do not have the means to ship a whole transmission. Tried putting it in the box that the TKX came in, but it's too wide with the little lever that sticks off of the side; currently sitting on the transmission jack. I'd love to see this transmission live on, it's too good to just be sitting around in a garage. Should be able to bolt into a 2WD 2.8L S10 as well, could maybe be used in a 60degV6 swap in an MG or similar, would probably work in a 4thgen 3.4 as well (though it is not a 4L60E, so I'm not sure how the 4thgen ECU would feel about it; that's out of my realm of knowledge). Loose price around $500, definitely negotiable, send me some offers!

NORTHERN NECK/ FREDERICKSBURG/ KING GEORGE/ DAHLGREN AREA OF VA. Close to the bridge to Maryland as well, 30 minutes or so from Budd's Creek/ MIR, and an hour or 2 from DC depending on traffic.

Thank you, I appreciate you taking the time to read it! Hoping someone here can make use of the old 700R4, not sure how many Northern Neck folks we have on this forum though. I'll give it a couple months before it goes up on Marketplace as well, TGO gets first dibs

I tried that phone number. Jenny answered. She sounds like a senior citizen.
