I'm in the middle of swapping my '88 trans am from 305 TPI to 350 TPI. I have a jasper crate engine going in, located a 85-86 LIM to make it work, I still need larger injectors and all the above for it to run properly. The exhaust on it is rusting off, and currently ends after the cat due to rust.

Obviously I'm ditching the smog pump, and don't just want to plug the holes in the manifolds, would rather remove all together.

Trying to just fix this beast on the cheap. Have a $500 budget, and have spent $125 so far for the motor.

 

I have a 88 firebird 350 tpi chip, your 86 tpi ecm is the same if I am reading this right and the 86 came with tpi

 

i have a '88 305 TPI TA. I am changing to a 350, and from what i've read the prom and ESC modules for the 350 are different than the 305's.

 

well, I guess I never knew that. I just know the knock sensor and memcal injectors are differant. anyway what I have and do know is I have a almost new memcal # AKXY 16083286

 

i thought I can't use that from a '89 due to VATS?
