need a windshield for an 86 iroc... located in west hartford,ct/ anyone?

 

My Buddy's got one in a Bird we are in the middle of stripping. ( tree fell on it --- OUCH ! ) I'm going to stop by there in the morning to pull the column and dash out of the car. I'll see if it's any good and what he's asking for it.

I'm in Coventry, RI and if it's any good I'll let you know.

Get a new one installed for around $160 bucks and they come to your house to put it in . Its the only way to go, cause you'll never get an old one out without messing it up and if you do you'll just f**k it up putting it in..

I havn't said more than 10 words to the guy so I'm not sure what he wants for it yet. I took a look over it whan I pulled the dash out and it looked OK. It was a T-Top car that had a tree land on it - the Hatch blew out but not the windshield !

Once I get to stay over there for more than 10 minutes I'll try to get a quote out of him. I'll also take a closer look at the windshield to see if there are any "pits" in it.

Shops will usually install used windshields for $75 and 100 with no garuntee. Half the price is an attractive alternative !!!

When I cleaned off the windshield to take a good look at it yesterday I found a scratch on it from the wiper arm. It was on the bottom of the windshield from the passenger wiper. I didn't know if you would want it like that. I never did get a price from the guy - but it did come up and he mentioned that he really didn't want to deal with pulling it out.

If you don't mind a scratch and are willing to pull it out yourself than I'm sure you could get it cheap. Think it over and let me know.

P.S. My camera finally died yesterday so I could get pics !!

 

I hope you guys don't plan on shipping that glass I've broken them just hualing them 100 yds I agree you are far better off just payng for a new one. Don't mean to rain on anyone's deal at all just offering some advice
