I'm doing the same conversion on my bird. Found a few things you will need. Throttle valve cable, electric fans help, fuel lines with intank pump, air filters and ducts, and possibly, depending on your set-up, I converted to serpentine belt system from tbi cars as well. If you do the belt thing, make sure you get the exhaust bolts that hold support brackets and all. I might have an extra harness and ecm. Won't really know until I get mine going, but can keep you informed if you can wait. Understand if you can't.

I've heard good things about Painless Wiring. Only thing I see you having a problem with is with the injectors with the original interior wire harness. There is a second fuse for fuel injected cars on the fuse block. You can try to run a wire from there to the tpi harness. Also, don't forget about a pump that will deliver the right fuel pressure. I'm putting one in the tank and running new fuel lines all the way through. The harness I have is for a maf car. I was going to do speed density, but heard not as many good things about it. I guess that's the reason the LT1 and LS1 cars have maf. One thing you could do is get the wire diagrams and see what you may need to have and how it is set up. If you know of anyone that has a tpi in their car, ask to take a look or take pictures from all angles so you have a reference point on how it should look when you are done. It'll be a lot of work, but I'm going through the same thing. The engine harness for tpi is actually simpler than that of the carb engines. So good luck and let us know how it's doing. If any questions, pm me and I'll give you my number and hopefully between the 2 of us, we can get both cars up and running.

Stick with the 86-90 MAF system. 1985 is not the most desireable harness/ecm.

you will need the TPI system manifold will have to be 85-86 i think changed heads in 87 you will also need an ECM and a new fuel pump in the tank for a TPI car as far as to wether the harness i have working for you not exactly sure but it is possible then its just a matter of putting it all together

Re: tpi harness

I have a complete TPI system from a 1985 Z28. The TPI intake including manifold, runners and plenum plus the entire wiring harness including the CPU. I also have 2 custom chips that I will throw in. One from Superchips and the other from TPI.com. I also will throw in the proper throttle cable. $400 plus shipping.

Re: tpi harness

If you know exactly what you need in your harness, you should talk to Mike from efi connection. I think he advertises on the site now. Anyway, he did a harness conversion for me and did a great job at a VERY reasonable price. Everything was professional and he even included detailed notes about what he did to the harness. Definitely a surefire option.
