Need Olds 403 block...

I am desperately searching high & low for an Oldsmobile 403 6.6 liter short block. It can actually be completely bare too but if it had a camshaft & crankshaft in it that would be perfect as I have everything else for it. Thanks for reading. Feel free to P.M. me here or e-mail me @ owen5@hotmail.com, or call me anytime at 1-973-809-9111. Thanx again!

-Brett

P.S.- I am located in northern NJ but do not mind at all driving a far distance to go get it.

Re: Need Olds 403 block...

Did you ever find you a 403?... I have one but it is going to my Cutlass. I was goin to stick the 403 in my Camaro (which has a Olds 307 now). But I just got my hands on a 455. So now the 455 will be going in the Camaro....

Whats your plan for the 403?

Not going into this again. But please don't comment if you know nothing about a brand.

I know plenty. How can you judge what I know about a brand just because I voiced an opinion on something

Heck, I will bite...I can judge you cuz you decided to make a comment, on the 403 that proves you know nothing. Theses Super Garbage 403 you speak of are capable of running 11s all day. Is it as great has the Almighty Chevy 350... no, But is it Super Garbage Boat Anchor... no. But an engine that is a great street engine. Easy to get into the 13s with nothing more, but a head swap from an early Olds 350...Yes.

Never understood why ppls, dogs out an engine that isnt all out bullet proof overkill. Its a good engine. Thats performs when given the right setup.

Well that's the thing. The 403, as it sits, is a big bore short stroke engine. That recipe does well for an engine in the upper RPM range, but at the same time, with its windowed main webs and siamesed cylinders one will not want to keep that engine in the upper RPM range, so it's a catch 22. Most people stroke them and try to keep them below 5000-RPM, so if you match the right cam with the right heads, it should perform very well for what it is....

just because it goes into the 11's doesnt mean it is good. any v8 over 300 cubic inches can be made to go into the 11's so that is not a valid point in the least bit. And given the choice, it is cheaper to make a 350 chevy get into the 11's then a 403 olds because the parts are more plentiful for the 350 and thier are more and better options. any engine can perform well with the right setup duh.

I have a running 403 that we installed in a Buick estate wagon a while back with a rebuilt 2004r trans. I also have the original 307 and a 70's vintage 350 that I would like to get rid of with the car. It is located in Pittsburgh and is curruntly for sale locally. I would like to get $800 for everything. I can be reached at 440-263-2382
