AFR 190 SBC 305ci heads
AFR 190 SBC 305ci heads
I'm looking for a set of the old AFR 190 aluminum heads that were for the 305ci SBC engine. AFR Kit 1019, AFR Item No. 1147. I believe they were discontinued around 2002. They will have 1.94/1.56 (1.550) valves with 56cc combustion chambers. Also 72 degree angle intake bolts and hopefully drilled for center bolt valve covers.
If you have a set of these you are willing to part with, bare or complete, please drop me a line with pictures and asking price.
Thanks!

I have set of those but mine are modified to accomodate a 2.02" intake valve and won't work on a 305 now. Good luck on your search. Those are great heads.

Re: AFR 190 SBC 305ci heads
I can give you the name and number of the guy who owns mine. Problem is they did get 2.02 valves. It would take a fair amount of work to get seats installed with 1.94" valves. Good news is the guy is the owner of a top notch head porting shop and can do the work. The heads also got a full port job by AFR. I did frag two pistons so two of the chambers have specs but they aren't bad. Let me know. It may be worth your time and money as these heads are very scarce.
Re: AFR 190 SBC 305ci heads
Sounds like for the work they would need I would be equally as well off getting a set of bare cast heads and having them machined, which I already have a quote for.
Thanks tho!

I've been looking for a set too...
I'm starting to look at the TrickFlow 175's for the 305...
I saw a article where they added over 100hp on an engine per the dyno sheet...
Summit as them bare for $450 each, a bit more with hardware...
And they have accessory holes, always a plus

Ah yes, these:

Those are in fact my fall back as they are also C.A.R.B. approved.
