Has anyone had their 87 or newer 350 bored oversize and saved the old pistons in the box from the new ones? I have a truck engine with dish pistons that I would like to raise the compression ratio with some flat tops. Willing to pay reasonable amount and shipping.

 

What bore size are you after?

 

I am looking for standard size 350 but might be interested in oversize if the price is right.

 

I've got six brand new standard bore 350 forged flat top TRW pistons. I bought six because I was building a 4.3 V6. 350s and 4.3s share the same pistons. V6 build never got off the ground. Both Jegs and Summit sell the pistons individually for $35 each. I'll sell you my six for $75 plus shipping and for another $70 you can have a full set of forged pistons. If your interested, I can send you pictures. They are new in the original box.

 

I am probably looking for more of a budget solution because this is not that great of an engine to begin with. I will keep yours in mind but I was hoping someone had some pistons they took out when they had their engine bored.

90-92 are the only flat top L98 pistons.

 

I should have been more clear about this. I need flat top pistons to raise compression ratio on a 87 truck motor with larger combustion chambers.

Did the 90 - 92 L98 have higher compression ratio than previous L98's?

 

Yes. The 90 - 92 L98 and all LT1 engines use a flat top piston.
